Across the nation, agencies are looking for new, innovative ways to advance their most difficult cases, but limited funding is holding them back from bringing their ideas to fruition.  Your contribution will provide much-needed funds to law enforcement agencies to ensure they have access to the most cutting-edge tools and technology to advance their investigations.

  • Only agencies can submit a case to be considered for funding.

    If you are a family member of a crime victim, we recommend you contact the agency in charge of the investigation and encourage them to contact Cold Case Initiative.

  • All donations go to a general fund, which will then be allocated to agencies and specific cases by the board of Cold Case Initiative. Careful consideration will be given to how funds will provide the most impact.

  • Funds raised by Cold Case Initiative will be used by agencies to offset the cost of scientific and investigative techniques used to solve cold-case homicides and violent crimes, identify missing persons, and give names back to unidentified decedents.

  • There is no cost for an agency to submit an application to Cold Case Initiative.

    It is the agency’s responsibility to research your organization's policy on donations and communicate that policy to Cold Case Initiative so that we may work together to develop the best plan for working with your organization.
